As you read through the descriptions of the cigars in this catalog, you'll notice a lot of commonalities; handmade, Cuban seed tobaccos, well-balanced blends... So why the big difference in price between most of them and Monsenor? Two reasons. First, we take the trimmings from those high-end cigars and combine them with long filler to make what a "sandwich" filler blend, which saves a lot on tobacco cost. Second, the factory that produces them for us has to keep its cigar rollers working even when they are in-between big orders, so they make Monsenor during those slow times and let us have them for a song so that we'll take all that they produce.
